Job summary

Astra Technologies in Dubai seeks a seasoned finance leader to own the books for the group, from journal entries to signed IFRS financial statements, consolidation and monthly management reporting. This hands-on role manages the close, reconciliations and liaises with auditors.

You will drive IFRS 9, IFRS 15 and IFRS 16 guidance, oversee VAT and corporate tax, and act as Oracle Fusion power-user, shaping policies and controls in a fast-moving fintech banking environment.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of accounting experience, including financial close, IFRS reporting and group consolidation.
• Hands-on experience managing an external audit end to end.
• Strong knowledge of IFRS, including IFRS 9 in a lending context.
• Experience with Oracle Fusion or comparable ERP.
• Experience in banking, lending, payments or fintech.
• Detail-oriented and a clear writer, capable of challenging the business with evidence.

Responsibilities

• Run the monthly close to 3rd calendar day with reconciliations and balance sheet review.
• Prepare annual IFRS financial statements and disclosure notes for each entity.
• Produce monthly management packs with key metrics and variance explanations.
• Lead external audit planning, PBC lists and timely sign-off.
• Coordinate internal audits and remediation of findings.
• Draft accounting position papers and assess IFRS impacts (IFRS 9/15/16).
• Manage group consolidation, currency translation and intercompany eliminations.
• Own key finance controls and ERP access.
• Document policies, SOPs and remediation actions.”
• Prepare VAT returns and support Corporate Tax and CBUAE regulatory reporting.
• Act as finance key user for Oracle Fusion, managing COA and period controls.
• Review processes and drive close improvements; explore automation.
• Drive AI automation in month-end close processes.
