Job summary

DBB is seeking an ID Package Engineer to coordinate the design and delivery of infrastructure packages across roads, marine, and supporting works in Abu Dhabi. You will manage interdisciplinary interfaces, ensure designs are coordinated and compliant, and deliver on schedule and budget.

The role requires strong technical and communication skills, experience in infrastructure engineering and design coordination, and familiarity with codes and authority approvals.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline; postgraduate qualification is an advantage.
• Relevant experience in infrastructure engineering, design coordination, or package management across roads, marine and utility works.
• Understanding of infrastructure design and delivery processes, including multidisciplinary interfaces.
• Familiarity with design codes, standards, specifications, and authority approval processes.
• Experience reviewing technical documents and coordinating consultants or contractors.
• Strong communication, organisation, problem-solving, and stakeholder-management skills.
• Ability to manage competing priorities and deliver work to project schedules.
• Proficiency with relevant engineering and project coordination tools; familiarity with document management and scheduling systems is an advantage.
• Professional engineering registration or chartership is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate the design and technical delivery of assigned infrastructure packages (roads, marine, utilities).
• Manage interfaces between civil, structural, geotechnical, utilities, marine, architectural and other disciplines.
• Review drawings, specifications, calculations, schedules and submissions for completeness and coordination.
• Track design deliverables, approvals, technical queries, risks and changes through the project lifecycle.
• Coordinate with clients, authorities, consultants, contractors and internal teams to resolve design and construction issues.
• Support design reviews, value engineering, constructability assessments and risk workshops.
• Monitor compliance with codes, standards, authority requirements and project specifications.
• Provide technical support during procurement and construction, including RFI responses and reviewing design changes.
• Prepare progress updates and maintain records of decisions and actions.

The role will manage interfaces between disciplines, consultants, contractors, and stakeholders to help ensure designs are coordinated, compliant with project requirements, and delivered to schedule and budget.

Job Responsibility

• Coordinate the design and technical delivery of assigned infrastructure packages, including roads, marine works, utilities, and associated infrastructure.
• Manage interfaces between civil, structural, geotechnical, utilities, marine, architectural, and other relevant disciplines.
• Review drawings, specifications, calculations, schedules, and other technical submissions for completeness and coordination.
• Track design deliverables, approvals, technical queries, risks, and changes throughout the project lifecycle.
• Coordinate with clients, authorities, consultants, contractors, and internal project teams to resolve design and construction issues.
• Support design reviews, value engineering, constructability assessments, and risk workshops.
• Monitor compliance with applicable codes, standards, authority requirements, and project specifications.
• Provide technical support during procurement and construction, including responding to requests for information and reviewing proposed design changes.
• Prepare progress updates and maintain accurate records of decisions, actions, and interface requirements.
• Promote safe, sustainable, and practical design solutions.

Candidate Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline; a postgraduate qualification is an advantage.
