Key Responsibilities
- Deliver engaging and interactive IB Art lessons aligned with school curriculum standards and academic expectations
- Develop creative teaching strategies that inspire a love for Art and strengthen critical thinking skills
- Support students in developing artistic techniques, creative expression, and portfolio‑based learning
- Ensure continuity in curriculum delivery across high school levels and maintain high academic standards
- Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse learning needs and creative abilities of students
- Foster a positive and inclusive classroom culture that encourages curiosity, experimentation, and exploration
- Assess student progress regularly and provide constructive feedback for artistic and academic improvement
- Collaborate with colleagues to create a strong and supportive learning environment
- Participate in parent‑teacher conferences and maintain effective communication with families
- Contribute to school exhibitions, creative events, and wider school community initiatives
Ideal Profile
- Bachelor of Education degree or an initial degree with PGCE, PGDE, or equivalent teaching qualification in Art
- Proven experience teaching High School Art, preferably within an American or IB curriculum school
- Strong knowledge of inquiry‑based learning and hands‑on Art education
- Excellent classroom management and lesson planning skills
- Strong communication and collaboration abilities
- Ability to build positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues
- Passion for creativity, innovation, and student artistic development
- Commitment to continuous professional improvement and teaching excellence
- Strong understanding of IB philosophy and international school standards preferred
