Job summary

DAPIN is seeking an I&C Commissioning Supervisor for our Abu Dhabi offices. The role requires 15+ years in commissioning I&C systems and hands-on experience with DCS, ESD, PLC, and SCADA in oil & gas settings. You will lead field technicians, coordinate system turnover, and ensure safe operations per work instructions.

Open to shift work and extended hours. Strong English and MS Office skills are essential to manage documentation and NCRs, with focus on quality and compliance.

Qualifications

• Over 15 years of practical I&C commissioning experience.
• Experience in power plants, water treatment plants, and oil & gas.
• Hands-on with SOVs, MOVs, and CVs; cold and hot loop checks.
• Proficient with DCS, ESD, PLC, and SCADA systems.
• Strong MS Office proficiency.
• Ability to lead and supervise field technician teams.
• Advanced English proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Prepare for commissioning as specified in the work instructions.
• Organize and supervise safe operation from erection to PAC.
• Turnover of systems to commissioning and to customer per procedures.
• Perform commissioning per specs, considering safety and environmental regs.
• Keep diaries and logbooks; maintain NCRs as needed.
• Train customer staff in operation and maintenance.
• Manage time sheets and field service reporting.
• Organize return of commissioning test equipment.

Requirements:

• Over 15 years of practical experience in the commissioning of Instrumentation and Control (I&C) systems.
• Experience in power plants, Water treatment Plants, Oil & gas.
• Experience in instrumentation—including SOVs, MOVs, and CVs—performing cold and hot loop checks from the field to the ICSS/HMI systems..
• Proficiency in DCS, ESD, PLC, and SCADA systems within power plant, process industry, or Oil & Gas environments.
• Proficient in MS Office.
• Ability to manage and supervise field technician teams.
• English advanced.

• Prepare for commissioning as specified in the work instructions.
• Manage, perform, coordinate and monitor the commissioning of the specified systems by arrangement with the AI Commissioning Lead.
• Organize and supervise the safe operation of the plant (site rules, safety regulations, shift plan, shift log, etc.) from system turnover from erection until PAC by arrangement with the Commissioning Lead.
• Facilitate the turnover of systems from erection to commissioning and from commissioning to the customer in accordance with current procedure/work instruction by arrangement with the Commissioning Lead.
• Perform commissioning according to the specifications and engineering documents, taking into account for the safety instructions, environmental protection measures and local regulations.
• Ensure that the engineering department is involved in handling technical problems and decisions by arrangement with the Commissioning Lead.
• Hand over the commissioning, quality and feedback documentation and software (originals) with a document list to the Commissioning Lead for compiling and release.
• Ensure that commercial and technical deviations are reported with a corresponding non-conformance report (NCR) and that the same are followed up until their completion by arrangement with the Commissioning Lead.
• Keep a diary to record daily work, occurrences, problems, special information, etc. plus a list of pending items.
• Maintain logbooks to record commissioning and operational events as specified in the work instructions by arrangement with the Commissioning Lead.
• Manage, assess, supervise and co-ordinate personnel assigned to him/her.
• Manage the handling and inspection of the commissioning test equipment.
• Support and train other Commissioning Engineer’s assigned to him/her.
• Participate in site meetings by arrangement with the Commissioning Lead.
• Train the customer staff in operation and maintenance as instructed by the Commissioning Lead.
• Check the time sheets of the personnel assigned to him and forward the same to the Commissioning Lead.
• Work off the open item lists of systems under his/her responsibility by arrangement with the COM Organize the return of all commissioning test equipment as soon as possible by arrangement with the Commissioning Lead.
• Provide information to the Commissioning Lead for reporting purposes.
• Provide, by assignment completion, a Field Service Report and forward the same to the Commissioning Engineer and Commissioning Lead.
