Job summary

NMDC Dredging & Marine is seeking an on-site Survey/Field Engineer to identify and resolve measurement discrepancies and support the project survey team through mobilization, calibration, execution and close-out. You will report any survey-impacting activities to the Project Surveyor and collaborate with the Survey Department to ensure conformance to design specifications.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in Hydrography, Marine or Land Surveying or related field and a minimum of 3 years’

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Hydrography, Marine or Land Surveying, Geodetic Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar role within the same or related industry.
• Experience in dredging and civil marine projects is highly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Identify and resolve discrepancies or errors in measurements.
• Follow established policies and procedures to support the project survey team on site.
• Assist mobilization, calibration, execution, deliverables and close-out of projects.
• Report activities impacting survey operations to the Project Surveyor or Chief Surveyor.
• Collaborate with the Survey Department to ensure adherence to design specifications.
• Contribute to the preparation and maintenance of Survey Guidelines and Procedures.
• Assist with installation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of survey equipment, hardware, and software.
• Ensure safety of all employees; participate in the safety program.

• Actively contribute to the preparation, standardization, and maintenance of Survey Guidelines and Procedures.
• Assist with the installation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of survey equipment, hardware, and software.
• Ensure the safety of all employees; active participation in the safety program is required to maintain a safe working environment.
