Job summary

SMBC Group’s DIFC Branch in Dubai seeks a Compliance Director to lead the regulatory compliance program across the region. You will shape policy, advise senior leadership and ensure alignment with local and international regulatory expectations.

The role carries Authorised Individual status in Dubai and controls functions in Doha, with four direct reports. You will work with regional leaders to embed three lines of defence and uphold the highest standards of conduct.

Qualifications

• Educated to degree level; professional qualifications desirable.
• Substantial knowledge of financial services regulatory framework.
• Experience in regulatory roles.

Responsibilities

• Ensure SMBC DIFC Branch and the region comply with regulatory requirements.
• Develop compliance programs and policies.
• Advise senior management on regulatory risks and actions.
• Communicate ethical principles, conduct standards and regulatory expectations.
• Lead and develop a team of four direct reports.
