Job summary

Sheraton Grand Hotel, Dubai seeks a Maintenance Technician to perform preventive maintenance on HVAC and refrigeration systems across guest rooms and public areas. You will ensure safe, efficient operation and complete assigned work orders with quality and care.

The role involves installing or supervising installation of new equipment, managing workshop tools and spare parts, and supporting energy-saving initiatives in line with Marriott standards. A technical degree is required.

Job description

To perform the Preventive maintenance tasks to the allotted room quota and the weekly quota for public areas. To assist with other maintenance work as directed. To perform all requests and work orders related to AC and Refrigeration.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Responsible for maintenance / technical attention in accordance with the AC preventive maintenance program to guest rooms, public areas and BOTH in the entire hotel.

Responsible for working to required work orders and requests, for ensuring those areas are left in a safe and perfect operational condition and for the proper use and security of all human & equipment.

SPECIFIC JOB KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Revenues, profits, cost effectiveness and ROI:

• To manage effectively the spare parts control system as well as to get the best products which suites our standards and the highest quality without affecting our cost management.
• To do the installation of any new air-conditioning or refrigeration equipment or to supervise the contractor as required.
• To maintain the equipment and tools in good order and to maintain all stores organized.
• And keeps the workshop clean, tidy and properly stock
• Initiates orders for supplies for workshop and maintain records of work completed.

Management of human resources:

• To show the interest in learning all available new technology and the latest products related to our values and brand standards and to be able to apply that in our hotel.
• To share in the implementation of the training programs that will result in better productivity and better work environment.
• To attend the conducted technical trainings, and to assure of the correct implementation.
• Cooperates with and assists other tradesmen as directed.
• To conduct himself in a manner as to encourage fellow employees to do likewise.
• To be always efficient, courteous and pleasant and to show at all times a helpful attitude and never to talk in a loud voice to other employees.

Upkeep physical plants and building:

• Regular inspection of all air-conditioning and refrigeration and carrying out preventive maintenance. And cleaning of all air filters.
• Carrying out all necessary repairs to all air -conditioning and refrigeration (equipment and control).
• The alteration of any existing air- conditioning and refrigeration equipment.
• Complete the maintenance tasks to the allotted daily quota of guest rooms and the weekly rote of public areas.
• Base on various equipment specifications and operations standards to ensure that all of the equipment is efficiently running favor the smooth building operation.
• To submit reports to the Assistant Director of Engineering on the condition of the building and the equipment. (Timely / accurately)

Sustainable management and community activity:

• To record the cold temperature every shift and to make the necessary adjustments to maintain the specified conditions.
• To share in creation (and implementation) of energy saving plans matching with the overall Environmental policy of the hotel and 30/20 plan of Marriott International.
• To have the interest on searching all the resources for getting the newest technology supportive to our energy saving plans.
• To show the interest to not only participates in the community occasions but sharing in creation the events.

Safety and security:

• Works in a safe manner concerning guests, employees, self, equipment and property.
• Follow up with daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly and annually control measure actions on the scheduled time.
• To be able to apply the control measures of the risk assessments for the various areas and operation.
• To be able to follow on the control measures of the legionella risk assessment
• To be part in implementation of fire prevention and evacuation procedure for guest and staff.
