Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain plumbing, water and steam lines to ensure efficient hotel operation.
• Repair and exchange water installations and equipment;.
• Submit reports to Foreman on equipment condition and performance.
• Carry out brazing, soldering and welding on piping systems.
• Keep workshop and stores clean, tidy and stocked; ensure safe handling of all tools.
• Inspect water pipes, drains, pumps and tanks regularly; check for leaks.
• Support safety procedures including fire prevention and evacuation as required.

Job description

To perform the preventive maintenance tasks to all the water systems, drainage, grease traps and plumbing equipment. To assist with other maintenance work as directed. To perform all requests and work orders related to plumbing systems as well as firefighting system.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Ensures efficient operation of all plumbing, installation, water and steam lines. To exchange and to repair water and plumbing installations and equipment. To submit reports to the Foreman and Birchstreet on the condition of equipment and components. Responsible for working the required work orders and requests, for ensuring all areas are left in a safe and perfect operational condition and for the proper use and security of all humans & equipment.

SPECIFIC JOB KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Revenues, profits, cost effectiveness and ROI :

To manage effectively the spare parts control system as well as to get the best products which suites our standards and the highest quality without affecting our cost management.

To maintain the equipment and tools in good order and to maintain all stores organized.

And keeps the workshop clean, tidy and properly stocked.

Initiates orders for supplies for workshop and maintain records of work completed.

Carrying out brazing, soldering and welding to all piping systems and associated systems. Cleans out all blocked drains and grease traps.

Installs new piping systems, with copper, mild steel, polypropylene pipes, PVC pipes.

Management of human resources:

To show the interest in learning all available new technology and the latest products related to our values and brand standards and to be able to apply that in our hotel.

To share in the implementation of the training programs that will result in better productivity and better work environment.

To attend the conducted technical trainings, and to assure of the correct implementation.

Cooperates with and assists other tradesmen as directed.

Upkeep physical plants and building:

To regularly inspect all water pipes, drainage, pumps and all other tanks and equipment.

Regular inspections of all plumbing and sanitary equipment sumps and grease traps and drains. Regular inspection of all pipe ducts, public toilets, lockers rooms and kitchens to check for leaks.

To be responsible of using the plumbing equipment for all water and drainage installation and keep the records. Also to follow up the drainage cleaning schedules and make sure to be on time.

Complete the maintenance tasks to the maintenance programs and the weekly rote of plants rooms.

To maintain all company’s hand and fixed tools in good working order.

To submit reports to the foreman and the Assistant Director of Engineering on the condition of the water pipes, drainage, water tanks, pumps, valves and all the treatment equipment. (Timely / accurately)

To use the tag out lock out all the time for Safety as well as proper signage during any required work orders or maintenance related request.

Works in a safe manner concerning guests, employees, self, equipment and property.

Follow up with daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly and annually control measure actions on the scheduled time.

To be able to apply the control measures of the risk assessments for the various areas and operation.

To be part in implementation of fire prevention and evacuation procedure for guest and staff.
