BANYAN TREE in Dubai seeks an experienced HVAC supervisor to oversee installation, commissioning and ongoing maintenance of HVAC systems across guest areas and back-of-house spaces.
Role requires diagnosing, troubleshooting and supervising repairs while implementing preventive maintenance to ensure safe, efficient operation in a hospitality setting.
Supervise the installation commissioning operation and maintenance of HVAC systems in accordance with manufacturer specifications safety standards and property requirements across guest-facing and back-of-house areas Ensure the proper installation alignment connection and commissioning of HVAC equipment including air handling units AHUs fan coil units FCUs chillers package units split units exhaust and fresh-air systems pumps cooling towers and ventilation equipment Conduct routine inspections and maintenance of HVAC systems including checking electrical connections refrigerant levels filters belts bearings motors valves dampers thermostats sensors and control systems Plan and implement preventive maintenance programs to minimize equipment breakdowns reduce energy consumption prevent downtime and extend the service life of HVAC systems Supervise scheduled inspections and testing to ensure all HVAC equipment is operating efficiently safely and in compliance with operational and manufacturer standards Diagnose and troubleshoot HVAC-related technical issues including mechanical electrical refrigeration plumbing controls and air-distribution faults and ensure appropriate corrective action is taken Oversee repairs and replacement of critical HVAC components including compressors motors capacitors contactors thermostats sensors actuators expansion valves pumps fan motors belts bearings and other essential parts Monitor and maintain appropriate temperature humidity ventilation and indoor air-quality conditions in guest rooms restaurants kitchens public areas offices and other operational spaces Respond promptly to urgent HVAC service requests particularly during peak occupancy periods or when equipment failures may affect guest comfort food and beverage operations or other critical property functions Supervise HVAC technicians and contractors allocate daily work assignments monitor performance and ensure maintenance activities are completed efficiently and to the required quality standards Ensure all HVAC work complies with applicable health safety environmental energy-efficiency and property engineering standards Ensure safe handling storage and use of refrigerants lubricants chemicals tools spare parts and other HVAC-related materials in accordance with safety procedures and applicable regulations.
High school diploma or equivalent required; vocational or technical certification in electrical, mechanical, or appliance repair is preferred. 3 5 years of hands-on experience in the installation, maintenance, and repair of commercial kitchen and laundry equipment, ideally within a hospitality or large-scale commercial environment. Strong technical knowledge of kitchen appliances (e.g., ovens, dishwashers, fryers) and laundry equipment (e.g., washers, dryers, ironing systems), including both electrical and mechanical components. Proven ability to diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve faults in equipment efficiently and safely. Proficient in using hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment relevant to kitchen and laundry systems. Understanding of safety protocols, hygiene standards, and regulatory compliance related to food service and laundry operations. Ability to read and interpret equipment manuals, technical drawings, and wiring diagrams.
