A leading company in electrical engineering seeks an experienced high-voltage design engineer. The role involves creating detailed electrical designs, performing load calculations, and ensuring compliance with international standards while collaborating with multidisciplinary teams. Candidates should hold a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering and possess significant industry experience.
Develop detailed electrical design for high-voltage systems (11kV, 33kV, 132kV, and above) including single-line diagrams, cable schedules, control schematics, and layout drawings. Perform load calculations, equipment sizing, cable sizing, and voltage drop analysis. Prepare technical specifications and datasheets for HV equipment such as transformers, switchgears, circuit breakers, CTs, VTs, relays, and protection panels. Design and review protection and control systems, including relay coordination and protection philosophy. Interface with civil, mechanical, and instrumentation disciplines for interdisciplinary coordination. Ensure compliance with IEC, IEEE, DEWA, SEC, or client-specific standards and codes. Support in procurement activities by evaluating vendor offers, reviewing technical submissions, and performing FATs (Factory Acceptance Tests). Prepare and review engineering documents, such as method statements, calculation notes, and test procedures. Knowledge of simulation tools such as PVsyst, ETAP, and Dialux/ Equivalent software. Familiar with International codes such as AS / NZS, IEC / EN, IEEE, BS, NFC and Sizing/selection of PV module, SCB, Transformer, Inverter, HV/MV/LV switchgear/CRP Panel, Cable, Bus Bar/Duct, DG, UPS, Battery/Battery charger etc. Participate in client and consultant meetings, and provide clarification on technical issues.
Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering (Master’s is a plus). Minimum 5–10 years of experience in HV electrical design within an EPC environment. Strong knowledge of HV electrical systems, equipment, and industry practices. Proficient in design tools such as ETAP, AutoCAD, DigSILENT, or similar software. Familiarity with international codes and standards (IEC, IEEE, NEC, etc.). Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
