Job summary

Client of Teach East is hiring an AP World History Humanities Teacher to join our on-site team in Abu Dhabi. The role focuses on delivering engaging lessons tied to the US curriculum and AP World History standards.

Immediate start is required; candidates should bring a Bachelor’s in History or related field, a recognised teaching qualification, and 2–3 years of secondary History experience, with strong classroom management and differentiation skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in History, Humanities, Social Studies or related field (master's preferred).
• Recognised teaching qualification such as B.Ed., PGCE with QTS, or teaching licence.
• 2–3 years of secondary Humanities or History teaching experience.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver AP World History lessons aligned with the US curriculum.
• Develop students' historical thinking through source analysis, contextualisation and causation.
• Guide students to construct evidence-based arguments and essays.
• Prepare students for AP assessments with targeted practice and feedback.
• Use enquiry, discussion and source investigations to explore connections between societies.
• Include UAE Gulf and Arab history within global contexts.

Position: AP World History Humanities Teacher

Location: Abu Dhabi UAE

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging secondary Humanities lessons aligned with the US curriculum with a particular focus on AP World History
• Develop students historical thinking through source analysis, contextualisation, comparison, causation and the study of continuity and change
• Teach students to construct evidence-based arguments and write clear, well-supported historical essays
• Prepare students for AP World History assessments through targeted practice, constructive feedback and effective examination preparation
• Use enquiry, discussion, debates and source investigations to explore connections between societies and historical developments
• Include meaningful perspectives from UAE Gulf and Arab history within wider global contexts

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor s degree in History, Humanities, Social Studies or a related field; a master s degree is preferred
• Recognised teaching qualification, such as a B.Ed., PGCE with QTS, or teaching licence
• At least 2 3 years of secondary Humanities or History teaching experience
• Strong knowledge of the US curriculum, with AP World History teaching experience strongly preferred
• Confidence teaching historical enquiry, analytical writing and examination skills
• Strong classroom management, communication and differentiation skills
• International or multicultural school experience and knowledge of UAE, Gulf or Arab history are desirable
• Availability for an immediate start
