Job description

  1. Payroll Processing:
  • Calculate and process bi-weekly/monthly payroll for employees.
  • Verify timesheets, overtime, bonuses, commissions, and deductions.
  • Handle new hires, terminations, leaves (e.g., sick leave, maternity/paternity), and salary adjustments.
  1. Compliance & Reporting:
  • Ensure compliance with local, state/provincial, and federal payroll tax laws.
  • Prepare and submit payroll tax filings (e.g., PAYE, Social Security, Medicare).
  • Generate payroll reports (e.g., labor cost summaries, tax liabilities).
  1. Record Maintenance:
  • Update employee payroll records (direct deposit, tax forms, benefits deductions).
  • Reconcile payroll data with HR/finance systems.
  • Maintain confidentiality of sensitive payroll information.
  1. Employee Support:
  • Resolve payroll discrepancies and answer employee payroll queries.
  • Issue pay slips, tax documents (e.g., W-2, P60), and employment verification letters.
  1. System Management:
  • Use payroll software (e.g., Oracle) and Excel proficiently.
  • Assist in payroll system upgrades/testing.
