Job description

Human Resources Manager, Abu Dhabi


The main purpose of this role is to ensure that best practice is maintained at all times and to manage the implementation and maintenance of HR programmes, policies and procedures in support of the business objectives.


Key Duties Include:
  1. Establishing and maintaining strong relationships with business partners by being a trusted advisor and partner.
  2. Advising and working with the business in order to understand and proactively address HR issues such as employee relations, including investigations, complaints and enquiries.
  3. Supporting senior management in retention and succession planning.
  4. Advising and counseling the Abu Dhabi business on the interpretation of policies and procedures.
  5. Maintaining close contact with the Project Leaders by attending regular HR visits.
  6. Evaluating the effectiveness of current HR programmes and policies, thereafter recommending and developing alternatives or enhancements in order to ensure HR best practice is maintained.
  7. Advising on local employment legislation.
  8. Managing all HR programmes including on-boarding, performance management and conflict mediation/resolution.
  9. Utilising AECOM's defined compensation model in order to ensure that employees are evaluated and mapped correctly to ensure correct career pathing.
  10. Leading the performance management process.
  11. Promoting a qualified and diverse workforce.
  12. Ensuring employee records and reports on HR metrics are always up to date.
  13. Supporting the COE Leads in HR in order to ensure that AECOM's vision and goals are delivered.
  14. Providing leadership, coaching and mentoring to the Abu Dhabi Human Resources Team.

Minimum Requirements:

It is essential that the successful candidate has at least seven years of experience working in a similar role; ideally with a global engineering or professional services organisation. At least two years of relevant experience of working in the Middle East in a similar role is necessary.

Degree qualified from an internationally accredited University in Human Resources, Law or other relevant subject and CIPD or equivalent is necessary.
