Job description

Our client is a major national-level bank located in the United Arab Emirates dedicated to providing exceptional service to its clients and fostering a culture of continuous learning and development for its employees. We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Human Resources Learning and Development Team Lead to join the Human Capital Management team of the bank. This critical role is a permanent onsite role where a successful candidate will lead the design, development, implementation, and measuring effectiveness of learning and development programs that align with the bank's strategic objectives and support employee growth at all seniority levels.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage a team of learning and development specialists providing coaching, mentoring, and performance feedback;
  • Conduct learning requirements assessments to identify learning gaps and development opportunities within the bank considering both current and future business requirements as well as regulatory, statutory, and legal requirements;
  • Design, develop, and implement engaging and effective learning programs using a variety of methodologies including e-learning, classroom training, on-the-job training, coaching, mentoring, and simulations. This includes but is not limited to learning and development programs related to banking products and services, compliance, risk management, leadership development, and technical skills;
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts, business leaders, and HR partners to ensure that learning programs are relevant, impactful, and aligned with business objectives;
  • Oversee the development and adjustment of learning materials including training manuals, presentations, and online courses;
  • Manage the Learning Management System (LMS) content ensuring data accuracy, tracking learner progress, and generating reports;
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of learning programs through various metrics and KPIs including learner feedback, time to complete training, and other curriculum knowledge assessments and business impact analysis. Use these data to continuously improve and fine-tune learning and development programs;
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant regulatory requirements related to training and development within the banking sector of the United Arab Emirates;
  • Manage the learning and development budget effectively;
  • Stay up-to-date on industry best practices, learning technologies, and trends in learning and development particularly within the banking industry;
  • Manage vendor relationships related to external training programs.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree or a higher-level degree in Human Resources, Education, Business Administration, or a related field. A Master's degree is a plus;
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in Learning and Development with at least 2 years in a team lead or supervisory role, preferably within the banking or financial services industry;
  • Strong understanding of banking regulations, compliance, and statutory requirements related to training;
  • Proven experience in designing, developing, and implementing successful learning and development programs and L&D content;
  • Experience with Learning Management Systems (LMS) and e-learning tools is a plus;
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills with the ability to interact effectively with all levels of the organization;
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment;
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
