We are looking for a detail-oriented HSE Inspector to join our Project Management Consultancy (PMC) team for a transportation project entering the Design & Build (D&B) phase. The candidate will work under the HSE Manager, monitoring D&B contractors' compliance with health, safety, and environmental (HSE) standards and regulations.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Conduct regular site inspections and audits to identify hazards and ensure corrective actions are implemented.
  • Monitor and ensure D&B contractors' compliance with HSE standards and regulations.
  • Review contractors' HSE plans, risk assessments, and method statements.
  • Assist in incident investigations, ensuring root causes are identified and corrective actions are taken, including photographing incidents as needed.
  • Prepare and present HSE reports, including statistics, trends, and recommendations for improvement.
  • Provide HSE guidance and support to the project team, contractors, and stakeholders.
  • Coordinate and conduct HSE training and awareness programs for project personnel and contractors.
  • Liaise with regulatory authorities to obtain and maintain necessary permits and approvals.
  • Promote a positive HSE culture and continuous improvement in HSE performance.
  • Participate in project meetings, providing updates on HSE matters.

Qualifications and Educational Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Professional HSE certification (e.g., NEBOSH, IOSH, CSP) is highly desirable.

Knowledge and Experience

  • Minimum of 5-7 years' experience in HSE management, particularly in metro or railway projects.
  • Proven experience in a PMC environment, acting as a client representative.
  • Deep knowledge of HSE regulations, standards, and best practices.
  • Experience conducting HSE audits, inspections, and incident investigations.
  • Strong understanding of risk assessment and management principles.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team and manage multiple stakeholders.

Preferred Skills

  • Mandatory experience in rail, metro, or transit sectors.
  • Familiarity with project management principles and tools.
  • Proficiency in HSE management software.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to influence and promote a positive HSE culture.
