Job summary

El Sewedy Electric Co. seeks a Senior HSE Engineer in the UAE to lead safety compliance on TAQA projects. You will implement the HSE plan, conduct inspections and audits, and drive corrective actions across electrical and civil works. Strong UAE HSE experience and TAQA knowledge are essential.

The role requires managing high-risk activities, coordinating with clients and project management, and delivering regular HSE reports. NEBOSH IGC and ISO 45001/14001 auditor credentials are highly valued.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5-7 years of UAE HSE experience in construction, infrastructure, power, electrical or utility projects.
• Proven experience with TAQA/Abu Dhabi utility projects and UAE HSE legislation.
• Strong knowledge of TAQA HSE requirements and ADOSH/ADPHC guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with TAQA, ADOSH/ADPHC and project HSE requirements at site.
• Implement and maintain Project HSE Plan, procedures, risk assessments and PTW requirements.
• Conduct regular site inspections, safety observations, audits and toolbox talks; close corrective actions.
• Monitor high-risk activities including electrical, lifting, excavation, work at height, confined space, scaffolding.
• Lead incident investigations, identify root causes and track corrective actions.
• Monitor subcontractor HSE performance and ensure approved HSE compliance.
• Prepare daily, weekly, monthly HSE reports and KPI updates; coordinate with client and management.

Description

• Ensure full compliance with TAQA, ADOSH/ADPHC, and project HSE requirements at site.
• Implement and maintain the Project HSE Plan, procedures, risk assessments and PTW requirements.
• Conduct regular site inspections, safety observations, audits and toolbox talks, and ensure timely closure of corrective actions.
• Monitor electrical, lifting, excavation, work at height, confined space, scaffolding and other high risk activities.
• Lead incident and near miss investigations, identify root causes, and follow up on corrective and preventive actions.
• Monitor and control subcontractor HSE performance, ensuring compliance with approved HSE requirements.
• Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly HSE reports, statistics, KPIs and performance updates, and coordinate with the client and project management.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5-7 years of relevant UAE HSE experience in construction, infrastructure, power, electrical or utility projects.
• Proven experience in power transmission, distribution, substations, electrical networks, and associated civil works.
• Experience working on TAQA / Abu Dhabi utility projects.
• Strong knowledge of TAQA HSE requirements, ADOSH/ADPHC requirements and UAE HSE legislation.
