Job description

Driven to create unique home-grown food concepts that bring people together, the Independent Food Company is a UAE-based hospitality company with multiple concepts under its umbrella – SALT, Switch, Parker’s, Grind, Somewhere, and Public.

We are currently seeking to hire an experienced Safety Officer who will ensure workplace safety compliance with local regulations and company policies. The Safety Officer will develop and implement safety policies, procedures, and training programs. They will conduct safety inspections, audits, and risk assessments.

Key Accountabilities:

  1. Perform safety audits across all sites to assess compliance with health and safety regulations.
  2. Ensure adherence to local, national, and international safety regulations and company policies.
  3. Identify potential hazards, conduct risk assessments, and implement control measures to prevent workplace incidents.
  4. Investigate accidents, near-misses, and workplace injuries; prepare reports; and recommend corrective actions.
  5. Conduct safety training sessions and toolbox talks for employees.
  6. Monitor and enforce the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and ensure safety equipment is maintained.
