Job Description

The HSE Officer is responsible for ensuring workplace safety, health, and environmental compliance in accordance with local regulations and company policies. This role involves conducting risk assessments, implementing safety measures, and promoting a culture of safety within the organization. The ideal candidate should have strong knowledge of occupational health and safety standards, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to train employees on safety protocols.

Responsibilities:
  • Develop, implement, and enforce health, safety, and environmental policies and procedures.

  • Conduct regular risk assessments and site inspections to identify potential hazards.

  • Ensure compliance with local and international safety regulations.

  • Investigate workplace incidents, accidents, and near-misses, and recommend corrective actions.

  • Deliver HSE training and awareness programs to employees and contractors.

  • Maintain accurate records of safety audits, training sessions, and compliance reports.

  • Coordinate with management to develop emergency response plans and drills.

  • Monitor the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and enforce safety standards.

  • Ensure safe handling and disposal of hazardous materials.

  • Stay updated on new safety regulations and industry best practices.

Requirements:
  • Bachelor s degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field.

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in an HSE role, preferably in construction, manufacturing, or industrial settings.

  • Strong knowledge of HSE regulations and risk management practices.

  • Certifications such as NEBOSH, OSHA, or IOSH are highly preferred.

  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills.

  • Strong communication and training abilities to promote safety awareness.

  • Ability to conduct thorough investigations and provide detailed reports.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office for documentation and reporting.

  • Willingness to work in various environments, including field and office settings.
