- The HSE Officer is responsible for ensuring a safe and compliant work environment by implementing and maintaining health, safety, and environmental (HSE) management systems in line with OHSAS 18001/ISO 45001 standards. Duties include risk assessments, incident management, regulatory compliance, and employee training. The role involves monitoring workplace safety, conducting audits, and promoting a proactive safety culture through continuous improvement and effective communication across the organization.
- Responsibilities
- Lead, implement, maintain, and continually improve the health and safety Management system per OHSAS 18001/ISO45001 standard.
- Keep up to date with new legislation and maintain a working knowledge of all health and safety legislation affecting the business.
- Develop, review, and advise on Risk Assessments (RA) and Safe Work Procedures (SWP) for operational activities submitted in the Permit-To-Work (PTW) system.
- Conduct global and specific Job Hazard Analysis (JHA) and risk assessments, considering mitigation in line with the hierarchy of controls.
- Keep records of incidents and accidents, producing statistics and lessons learned for managers.
- Support admin in conducting regular office inspections to ensure policies and procedures are fully implemented.
- Lead training on HSE matters to enhance the organization’s health and safety skills.
- Produce management reports, newsletters, and bulletins.
- Qualification
- Proficient in hazard identification, risk assessment (JSA, HIRA), and emergency response planning.
- Strong knowledge of UAE HSE laws, ADNOC CoPs, and international standards (ISO 45001, NFPA).
- Experience in incident investigation (Root Cause Analysis) and safety reporting systems.
- Ability to conduct HSE audits, inspections, and compliance monitoring
- Competency in delivering safety training and behavioral-based safety programs.
- Experience
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience in HSE roles, preferably in oil and gas industry.
- Hands-on experience in risk assessments, PTW systems, and HSE compliance within industrial or hazardous material environments.
