Job description

The HSE Manager is responsible for leading and overseeing all health safety and environmental aspects across rail projects. This role ensures full compliance with regulatory and client requirements while promoting a strong safety culture across all project phases. The position requires proven experience in rail infrastructure projects and the ability to manage HSE risks in complex high-risk environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop implement and maintain HSE policies procedures and management systems in line with regulatory and rail industry standards.
• Lead all HSE activities across rail project sites ensuring safe execution of works.
• Conduct risk assessments hazard identification and implement mitigation measures specific to rail operations.
• Ensure compliance with client regulatory and company HSE requirements.
• Perform regular site inspections audits and incident investigations ensuring timely closure of corrective actions.
• Deliver HSE inductions training and awareness programs to staff and subcontractors.
• Monitor and report HSE performance including KPIs incidents and improvement initiatives.
• Act as the primary point of contact for HSE matters with clients regulatory authorities and internal stakeholders.
• Drive continuous improvement and promote a proactive safety culture across all rail project activities.

Key Requirements

• Minimum of ten (10) years experience in HSE within similar projects.
• Mandatory: Proven experience in rail/infrastructure projects.
• Strong knowledge of HSE regulations rail safety standards and best practices.
• Demonstrated experience managing HSE on complex high-risk projects.
• Excellent leadership communication and stakeholder management skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in Engineering or a related technical discipline.
• Relevant certifications such as NEBOSH IOSH or equivalent are preferred.
