Within Wood Abu Dhabi, we are actively expanding our project delivery portfolio to include Engineering Procurement and Construction Management (EPCM) Contracts.
As part of this growth, we are looking for personnel to join our team, either from internal Wood employees or the external market.
The type of personnel we are looking for is broad ranging including:
- Ambitious people that want to grow their career within this exciting contract execution model, where they will gain experience across the full project lifecycle from Detailed Engineering, through Procurement & Fabrication and into the Offshore Execution, covering Construction, Commissioning, Start -up and Handover to Operations.
- Experienced personnel with a background in PMC, EPC or EPCM projects, that can take on senior positions within the organisation and use their experience to steer the team to deliver outstanding performance across a portfolio of projects for Major Operators.
Projects within the EPCM model are wide and varied covering both onshore and offshore Brownfield Assets; typical examples include:
- Onshore Pipeline Controls System Upgrades
- Offshore Aset enhancement projects covering multiple system and equipment on large platforms, Wellhead Towers and Islands

Job objective:
The safe and effective delivery of a portfolio of Brownfield Safety Critical Projects on multiple offshore platforms; including large production complexes (multiple platforms bridge linked) and remote Wellhead Towers, located offshore within the UAE under an EPCM contracting model.
Typical projects include Fire & Gas System Upgrades, Power Upgrades, Control System Upgrades, Flare System Upgrades and Platform Structural Modifications.
Establish the HSE Management System to be used across the portfolio of projects and multiple construction contractors.
Establishment of HSE team to ensure project scopes are planned and executed with safety and protection of the environment at the forefront of all activities.
Oversee the Construction and Commissioning Contractor organisations in the implementation of the Project specific HSE Management Plans.
Ensure an effective Hazard and risk management process in place and implemented .
Shall ensure project and site construction execution and delivery in compliance with local regulations and contract requirements.
Provide certainty and confidence to the client and Wood project sponsor, that the contract is being delivered safely with a strong focus on a positive safety culture for all involved.
RESPONSIBILITIESKEY ACCOUNTABILITIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:- Embrace Wood strategic purpose, goals, and objectives and translate these into practical concepts relevant to HSE management.
- Ensure the project management team and contractors are committed to Wood Safety Shield and life-saving rules.
- Develop and monitor leading indicators and performance metrics at the project level and provide monthly and quarterly feedback to the project management
- Ensure an effective HSE leadership engagement at the project level including regular site visit, safety moments, safety townhalls, HSE meetings participations.
- Develop HSE documentation including plans, procedures, and SOPs to support the projects, where required
- Ensure compliance with local regulations and client HSE requirements.
- Implement a robust contractor management process in line with Wood and Client requirements.
- Implement an effective Emergency preparedness and response plan aligned with Client emergency response protocols.
QUALIFICATIONS- BSc, BEng or equivalent with extensive relevant experience.
Minimum Experience:- Minimum 15 years relevant experience in the oil & gas industry including offshore Brownfield projects., including at least five (5) years in similar position.
Role-Specific Skills/ Experience:- Experience of FEED / Detailed Design project phases.
- Experience of HSE Management during Construction and Commissioning phases.
- Demonstrable balance of industrial experience at a relevant level and position.
- Experience of working with multi-national and multi-cultural project teams is strongly preferred.
- Demonstrable knowledge of HSE standards and legal requirements.
- Experience of working in and managing HSE Management systems/ environment.
- Supervisory or direct management experience of more junior staff members.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Excellent planning and organisational skills.
- Confident self-starter who can work independently.
- Knowledge of internal and external audits and third-party certification audits practices.
