The key objectives for this role are:

Provides leadership and direction for the HSE department to hire and train qualified expertise into the department, to engage personnel on projects and improve department work processes and procedures. The position will ensure compliance with applicable HSE management system, customer safety policies, and government regulations by supervising the development of procedures and safety plans and ensuring proper execution.


RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop, implement, and oversee HSSE management systems in alignment with company and regulatory requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with local and international HSSE regulations, industry best practices, and client expectations.
  • Provide strategic leadership in risk management, hazard identification, and mitigation strategies.
  • Lead HSSE training, awareness programs, and competency development for project personnel.
  • Conduct regular HSSE audits, inspections, and incident investigations, ensuring timely corrective actions.
  • Foster a strong HSSE culture through engagement, coaching, and proactive communication with project teams.
  • Liaise with regulatory authorities, stakeholders, and subcontractors to ensure seamless HSSE compliance.

Expected:
  • Degree qualified in relevant discipline
  • ISO 9001:2008 Lead Auditor Qualified

Knowledge, skills and experience:
  • Extensive experience in HSSE management for large-scale onshore gas or oil & gas EPCM projects
  • Strong knowledge of HSE legislation, industry standards (e.g., OSHA, ISO 45001, ISO 14001), and best practices
  • Proven ability to lead teams, influence stakeholders, and drive a safety-first culture.
  • Experience with emergency response planning, environmental impact assessment, and security risk management
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills
