Job summary

We are seeking a dedicated HSE Project Specialist to oversee health, safety and environmental compliance for generator systems within data centres. The role focuses on safe installation, testing and commissioning of large-scale generators in mission-critical facilities, working with project teams, contractors and engineers.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years’ HSE experience in data centre, electrical, or industrial projects.
• NEBOSH General Certificate (or higher), IOSH Managing Safely.
• Experience supporting generator installation, testing, and commissioning within critical infrastructure.
• Strong knowledge of electrical safety, Permit-to-Work systems, and hazardous material handling related to generators.
• Excellent hazard identification, risk assessment, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with HSE standards during generator installation, commissioning, and operation within data centres.
• Conduct site inspections, safety audits, and hazard assessments focusing on generator-related activities.
• Support high-risk operations such as electrical tie-ins, fuel handling, and system integration.
• Investigate incidents related to generator systems and implement corrective actions.
• Deliver safety briefings and coaching tailored to generator testing and commissioning activities.
