Job summary

STANTEC MIDDLE EAST LIMITED - DUBAI BRANCH is seeking an experienced Health and Safety Manager for infrastructure projects in Al Ain. The role involves overseeing site health and safety standards, preparing safety documentation, and ensuring compliance with HSE regulations.

Ideal candidates will possess a Bachelor's degree in Engineering, NEBOSH IGC level 3 certification and at least 5 years of relevant experience. A UAE Driving License is mandatory. This position offers the chance to work on vital infrastructure projects while promoting a safe environment at work.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in health and safety management in construction.
• Strong knowledge of HSE regulations, especially in the UAE and Abu Dhabi.
• Experience in miscellaneous drainage and wastewater management.

Job description

Responsibilities

• Working on projects associated with Sewerage, Stormwater, Flood Alleviation, Wastewater Networks and Water distribution networks, Pumping Station, Recycling Plant and rehabilitation works
• Undertaking investigations, planning, designing, tendering, contract administration and construction supervising, monitoring
• Responsible for site Safety health and environment management
• Assist with the preparation of a construction health and safety plan
• Confirm necessary documentation was submitted to the relevant authorities
• Attend project planning meetings
• Attend regular site technical and progress meetings
• Facilitate site health and safety meetings
• Establish and maintain health and safety communication structures and systems, distribution of health and safety specific documents to sub-contractors
• Compiling project specific emergency response and preparedness plans
• Testing the effectiveness of the emergency response plans
• Conduct site safety inductions
• Oversee the reporting and investigation of project related incidents
• Development of technical reports in relation to health and safety issues and communicate through presentations to diverse groups of decision makers

• Ability to build and maintain safety environment at site
• Experience in infra project HSE supervision Management
• Follow safe work practices and adhere to company guidelines and policies for planning and executing work in a safe manner

• Other duties as requested from time to time by the Resident Engineer

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree/Diploma in Engineering in Health & Safety Management, Environmental Science or equivalent
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in Miscellaneous Drainage Work, Construction rehabilitation work and Wastewater background
• NEBOSH IGC level 3 is mandatory and other HSE related Diploma certification
• Abu Dhabi Public Health Center Practitioner Course
• Strong knowledge of HSE regulations and best practices, particularly in the UAE & Abu Dhabi
• UAE Driving License
