Job summary

Tanqeeb in Abu Dhabi is seeking an experienced Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) Supervisor to oversee day-to-day safety operations on site, enforce regulatory compliance, and promote a safe working culture.

The role involves supervising personnel, conducting safety inspections, investigating incidents, and coordinating risk assessments and work permits to prevent hazards across construction and manufacturing sites in the UAE.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Health and Safety is essential.
• NEBOSH, IOSH or equivalent certifications are highly preferred.
• 3-5 years of relevant HSE experience is required.
• Strong knowledge of local HSE regulations and international standards.

Responsibilities

• Supervise assigned personnel and perform supervisory duties as directed by management.
• Carry out safety inspections to detect hazards and unsafe practices and conditions.
• Investigate accidents and ensure proper function of all safety equipment.
• Investigate incidents and near misses and implement corrective actions and permits.
• Plan hot-work, naked flame and radiography, sign off work permits and site checks.
• Provide safety input in Task Risk Assessments and cascade hazard knowledge to the team.

Job description

• Supervise the activities of assigned personnel and perform supervisory functions at the level established by management.




• Carry out Safety Inspections according to approved program in order to detect safety and fire hazards and unsafe working practices and conditions.




• Investigate and report on accidents and proper functions of all safety equipment.




• Investigate incidents and near misses and generate report. Ensure implementation of regular inspection, maintenance and cleaning programmes for all compressed air breathing apparatus and resuscitation equipment.




• Plan and prepare for hot-work, naked flame and radiography, signatory for work permit and checks work site.




• Participate and provide Safety input in Task Risk Assessment and ensure that mitigation measures are identified in the work permits and knowledge of hazards are cascaded to those who carry out the task.

Desired Candidate Profile

• Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field is essential.


• Professional certifications such as NEBOSH, IOSH, or equivalent are highly preferred for credibility in HSE practices.


• Minimum of 3-5 years of relevant experience in HSE roles, preferably within the construction or manufacturing industries.


• A strong understanding of local HSE regulations and international standards is crucial for effective compliance management.
