HSE & FIT Promoter

Location: GCC

Qualification:

1. Minimum of Secondary Education
2. Authorized Gag Tester
3. H2S IBA Trained
4. Relevant training in advanced firefighting, emergency rescue, and pollution control operations
5. NEBOSH ICC or equivalent qualification is preferred but not mandatory

Department: Shipyard

Experience: A degree in OHS or equivalent with 1 year of experience. Alternatively, a non-degree holder with safety qualifications, operations, and safety experience totaling 5 years in a similar safety role. Must have firefighting and rescue experience, and hands-on knowledge of working with probe and portable gas meters.

Job Description:

This role combines technical operational expertise with practical safety operations to act as a frontline safety promoter, supported by HSE & FIT Inspectors and HSE Officers for supervision and subject matter expertise. Responsible for implementing and enforcing HSSE rules and regulations across all work activities within the yard and projects.

Key responsibilities include:

1. Executing firefighting, emergency rescue, pollution control drills, and actual emergencies on-site and onboard vessels.
2. Inspecting and installing firefighting, life-saving, emergency rescue, and pollution control equipment across premises and vessels, ensuring availability and proper storage.
3. Maintaining records, ordering equipment, and assisting with installation on vessels.
4. Conducting regular inspections, gas monitoring, and ensuring gas levels are within permissible limits.
5. Sharing observations, incidents, and hazards with superiors.
6. Monitoring hazardous operations and ensuring safety coordination among trades and contractors.
7. Ensuring personnel compliance with PPE and HSE requirements.
8. Performing administrative tasks such as Service Entry, Purchase Requisition, RFI, and Reservations in SAP.
9. Promoting a safe work environment, participating in wellness programs, and reporting safety concerns.
10. Performing other duties as assigned.
