Job summary

ADC seeks an experienced HSE Engineer to develop, implement, and maintain Health, Safety, and Environmental management systems for large-scale construction projects in Abu Dhabi. Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in science or related field.
  • HSE Diploma Level 6 or equivalent.
  • Certified/Lead Auditor for ISO 45001 preferred.
  • Minimum 6 years HSE experience; 3+ years in HSE Engineer role.
  • Experience implementing ISO 45001 management systems.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement and maintain HSE management systems for projects.
  • Conduct site inspections, audits, risk assessments and follow-up actions.
  • Lead incident investigations and root cause analyses; close corrective actions.
  • Deliver HSE inductions, toolbox talks and safety training.
  • Review and monitor HSE plans, risk assessments and safe work procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHAD/ADOSH and client requirements.
  • Prepare HSE reports, statistics and performance metrics.
  • Coordinate with clients, contractors and regulators on HSE matters.

# HSE EngineerWe are seeking an HSE Engineer who will be responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) management systems to ensure compliance with applicable legal requirements, client standards, and company policies. The role supports the delivery of construction projects by promoting a strong safety culture, minimizing workplace risks, conducting inspections and audits, and ensuring continuous improvement of HSE performance.* Implement and maintain the project Health, Safety, and Environmental Management System.* Ensure compliance with applicable HSE legislation, client requirements, and company policies.* Conduct regular site inspections, audits, and risk assessments to identify hazards and recommend corrective actions.* Prepare, review, and monitor HSE plans, method statements, risk assessments, and safe work procedures.* Monitor compliance with ISO 45001 Occupational Health and Safety Management System requirements.* Lead incident reporting, investigations, root cause analysis, and follow-up on corrective and preventive actions.* Deliver HSE inductions, toolbox talks, and safety awareness training to employees and subcontractors.* Monitor work permits, high-risk activities, and emergency preparedness arrangements.* Ensure proper use of PPE and compliance with safety procedures on site.* Liaise with clients, consultants, contractors, and regulatory authorities on HSE matters.* Prepare and submit HSE reports, statistics, and performance metrics.* Support internal and external HSE audits and ensure timely closure of audit findings.* Promote a proactive safety culture and encourage employee participation in HSE initiatives.#### Requirements* Bachelor's Degree in Science or a related discipline* HSE Diploma Level 6 (or equivalent qualification)* Certified/Internal Auditor or Lead Auditor for ISO 45001 (preferred)* Minimum 6 years of HSE experience* At least 3 years in a similar HSE Engineer role* Proven experience in the construction industry* Demonstrated experience implementing and maintaining ISO 45001 management systems* Practical experience with OSHAD/ADOSH requirements and compliance* Experience working on large-scale construction or infrastructure projects (preferred)* Strong knowledge of occupational health and safety legislation and industry best practices* Thorough understanding of ISO 45001 requirements and risk management principles* Familiarity with OSHAD/ADOSH standards and regulatory compliance* Strong incident investigation and root cause analysis skills* Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills* Ability to conduct HSE training and deliver safety presentations* Strong report writing and documentation skills* Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications* Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced construction environment* Additional HSE training or certifications (e.g., NEBOSH, IOSH, First Aid, Fire Safety, Incident Investigation, Environmental Management, Internal/Lead Auditor qualifications) (advantage)* Professional membership with recognized HSE organizations (desirable)### HSE EngineerConstruction / Site Management / InfrastructureAbu Dhabi**Experience:** 5-7 years
