Job summary

GHD in the UAE is seeking an experienced Health and Safety Engineer to join our UAE team. The role involves site work to monitor and audit construction contractors from a Health and Safety perspective, with the current project based in Al Ain.

The ideal candidate holds NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent, OSHAD registration, and ISO45001 Lead Auditor credentials, with extensive HSE management experience in the Middle East to set up safety processes, deliver training, and produce regular safety reports.

Qualifications

• Minimum 12 years relevant construction HSE experience.
• Lead Auditor certification for ISO45001:2018.
• OSHAD Registration.
• NEBOSH Dip Level 6 or equivalent.
• NEBOSH Diploma or International General Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety.
• Capable auditor with knowledge of ISO 45001 and ISO 14001.

Responsibilities

• Audit construction contractors on HSE aspects and monitor site safety.
• Set up HSE processes and procedures for safe construction operations.
• Deliver training and technical presentations to staff and clients.
• Perform safety inspections, incident investigations, and reporting.
• Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly safety reports.

Our Middle East operations have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Health and Safety Engineer to join our UAE team. The role will entail site work to monitor and audit construction contractors from a Health and Safety aspect. The current project is based in Al Ain.

We require a qualified Health and Safety professional with a strong systems and auditing background in managing and monitoring construction contractors. The successful candidate will possess the following;

• Minimum 12 years relevant construction HSE experience
• ISO45001:2018 Lead Auditor Certificate.
• OSHAD Registration
• NEBOSH Dip Level 6 or equivalent such as OTHM Dip Level 6
• NEBOSH qualification (NEBOSH Diploma or International General Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety)
• Capable Auditor with sound knowledge of ISOand ISO 14001 (preferably certified by an International Accreditation Body)
• Experience in auditing construction contractors.
• The ability to set up HSE processes and procedures for the safe running of a construction site.
• Performing all the Health Safety and Environment responsibilities (HSE) in accordance with company HSE management system and codes
• Experience in delivering and preparing training and technical presentations to staff and clients
• In continuous monitoring of safety inspections and issues as they occur on site and making reports on a daily weekly and monthly basis
• Training the staff on HSE codes and practices
• Conducting risk analysis job hazard and job safety analysis
• Accident / incident investigation and reporting
• Experience working in the Middle East region is essential.
