Job summary

Azizi Developments in the United Arab Emirates is seeking an experienced HSE Engineer to ensure effective implementation of Health, Safety & Environmental standards across construction and development projects. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in construction, building contracting, or real estate development, with strong knowledge of UAE HSE regulations and incident prevention.

  • NEBOSH IGC certification is mandatory.
  • 3–8 years of HSE experience in construction or real estate development.
  • Strong knowledge of UAE HSE regulations and safety practices.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple sites.

Responsibilities

  • Implement and monitor HSE policies, procedures, standards, and safe working practices across construction projects.
  • Conduct regular site inspections, safety audits, risk assessments, and HSE compliance checks.
  • Identify potential hazards and recommend corrective measures.
  • Monitor contractors and subcontractors to ensure HSE compliance.
  • Investigate accidents, incidents, near misses, and prepare detailed reports.
  • Conduct toolbox talks, safety inductions, training, and awareness programs.
  • Review RAMS and ensure safe systems of work.
  • Monitor high-risk activities including work at height, lifting operations, excavation, scaffolding, hot work, confined spaces, and electrical works.
  • Maintain accurate HSE records, inspection reports, incident reports, and corrective action trackers.
  • Follow up on non-compliances and ensure timely closure of corrective actions.
  • Coordinate with project teams, consultants, contractors, and relevant authorities on HSE matters.
  • Support emergency preparedness, drills, and response procedures.
  • Monitor environmental requirements including waste management, pollution prevention, and site housekeeping.
  • Prepare regular HSE reports and provide recommendations to project management.
  • Ensure compliance with UAE HSE legislation, local authority requirements, and company standards.
  • Promote a strong safety culture across all project sites.

Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Engineering, Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field.
  • Minimum 3-8 years of relevant HSE experience, preferably within construction, building contracting, or real estate development.
  • NEBOSH IGC certification is mandatory.
  • Strong knowledge of UAE construction HSE regulations and safety practices.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple site requirements.
  • UAE construction/project experience is highly preferred.
