Job summary

A leading company in the chemicals and polymers industry is seeking a Health and Safety Engineer to ensure compliance with HSE regulations in the UAE. The role involves developing safety programs, conducting inspections, and training employees on health and safety protocols. Ideal candidates will have a Bachelor's degree in a related field and a minimum of 5 years of experience, with strong knowledge of safety management systems and regulations.

Job Description

  • Develop, implement, and enforce HSE policies and programs, ensuring compliance with UAE laws and company regulations.
  • Conduct risk assessments, hazard identification, and safety inspections to maintain a safe work environment.
  • Investigate health and safety violations, incidents, and complaints, and report findings to the HSE Manager.
  • Prepare and submit weekly reports to the HSE Manager, assisting in ad-hoc HSE tasks as required.
  • Provide and coordinate HSE training programs on workplace safety, emergency preparedness, industrial hygiene, and environmental protection.
  • Respond to emergencies, including fire and hazardous material handling, and perform first aid/CPR when needed.
  • Assist in developing emergency response procedures and evacuation plans.
  • Maintain accurate HSE records, reports, and documentation.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the direct manager.

Desired Candidate Profile

  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Safety Engineering, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in HSE roles, preferably within the oil and gas, construction, or manufacturing industries.
  • Strong knowledge of HSE regulations, risk assessment methods, and safety management systems.
  • Fluency in English is mandatory; additional languages such as Arabic is an advantage.
  • HSE knowledge and compliance.
  • Knowledge of CCTV operations and usage of Firefighting equipment.
