We are seeking a dedicated HSE Engineer to join our Project Management Consultancy (PMC) team for a transportation project entering the Design & Build (D&B) phase. The candidate will work under the HSE Manager, ensuring the D&B contractor's compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards and regulations.

Responsibilities :

1. Assist in developing and implementing the HSE strategy, policies, and procedures for the project.
2. Conduct regular site inspections and audits to identify hazards and ensure corrective actions are implemented.
3. Review and approve the contractor's HSE plans, risk assessments, and method statements.
4. Monitor and ensure the D&B contractor's compliance with HSE standards, regulations, and project-specific requirements.
5. Provide HSE guidance and support to the project team, contractors, and stakeholders.
6. Participate in incident investigations, ensuring root causes are identified and corrective actions are taken.
7. Prepare and present HSE reports, including statistics, trends, and improvement recommendations.
8. Coordinate and conduct HSE training and awareness programs for project personnel and contractors.
9. Liaise with regulatory authorities to obtain and maintain necessary permits and approvals.
10. Promote a positive HSE culture and continuous improvement in HSE performance.
11. Participate in project meetings, providing updates on HSE matters.

Qualifications :

• Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• Professional HSE certification (e.g., NEBOSH, IOSH, CSP) is highly desirable.

Knowledge and Experience :

• 7-10 years of experience in HSE management, especially in large infrastructure projects.
• Proven experience in a PMC environment, acting as a client representative.
• Deep knowledge of HSE regulations, standards, and best practices.
• Experience conducting HSE audits, inspections, and incident investigations.
• Strong understanding of risk assessment and management principles.
• Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team and manage multiple stakeholders.

Preferred Skills :

• Experience in the rail or metro industry.
• Familiarity with project management principles and practices.
• Proficiency with HSE management software and tools.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Ability to influence and foster a positive HSE culture.
