Job Purpose

As HR Specialist - Governance & Compliance, you will support the Governance & Compliance practices of the HR department by leveraging industry best practices. You will collaborate with all HR teams and relevant internal stakeholders, such as Operations, Internal Audit, and Enterprise Data & Analytics (ED&A). The primary purpose of this role is to facilitate efficient and rewarding employee experiences across all people lifecycle dimensions, including performance management, productivity, learning and professional development, attrition, and retention. You will apply process improvement and standardization frameworks, quality assurance principles, and continuous monitoring of compliance controls across process, system, and data landscapes, supporting Enterprise Strategic Themes such as Regulatory Compliance, Business Agility & Efficiency, Business Growth, and Employee Experience.

In This Role, You Will
  1. Enable process governance by conducting process landscape assessments across the HR departments to determine process effectiveness, eliminate inefficiencies, and support innovative solutions.
  2. Collaborate with the HR Governance & Compliance Manager to implement an internal quality and control framework, evaluate process risk profiles, and design measures to mitigate risks, with continuous monitoring and improvement.
  3. Facilitate training and adoption of process and data governance through coaching, training programs, and system/process/SOP training to ensure compliance and data governance.
  4. Ensure all employee lifecycle processes are GDPR compliant and aligned with international best practices.
  5. Support industry research activities to identify best practices in process governance and validate current and future HR process, technology, and data needs.
  6. Implement the HR data governance strategy in line with Emirates Group corporate governance and compliance, focusing on Data Protection, Data Quality Assurance, and Metadata Management.
  7. Perform data governance activities with business data stewards to ensure proper management of people data across systems and the Enterprise Data Platform.
  8. Support the HR Data & Analytics team in defining the analytics self-service model and metadata management for quality data models and KPI definitions.
  9. Curate and monitor process-related documentation to ensure relevance and accuracy as part of knowledge management practices.
Qualifications & Experience

To qualify for this role, you must have at least 5+ years of relevant experience, including but not limited to:

  • Process improvement techniques such as Lean, Six Sigma, etc.
  • Project management and business consultancy experience in operational areas
  • Experience with Robotic Process Automation and innovation techniques
  • Industrial Engineering background
  • Experience working within consultancy, compliance, or audit functions

  • Strong collaboration skills with experience building trusted relationships across teams
  • Ability to multitask and work under strict deadlines while managing stakeholder interests
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, at all stakeholder levels
  • Knowledge of HR systems such as Oracle ERP, and experience in HR environments
  • Digital proficiency and strong analytical skills for report production and analysis
  • Ability to translate data into actionable insights and develop relevant metrics
  • Understanding of industry best practices in analytics, systems, and governance
  • Experience working in a multicultural expatriate environment
