Job description

The Assistant Resident Engineer will work with AECOM's construction supervision discipline engineers independently or under the direction of the Resident Engineer advising on all engineering matters related to roads construction.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review and approve Contractors' technical submittals including shop drawings, method statements, and materials as delegated by the Resident Engineer.
  • Oversee Inspectors' daily activities, review their reports, and provide guidance on the supervision of the Contractors' operations.
  • Coordinate with Contractors' supervisory personnel regarding schedule, sequence, and method of work.
  • Monitor project progress, identify potential delays, and recommend recovery actions.
  • Ensure high quality of works during the construction period, strict compliance with the Employers' Requirements, Project Specifications, and Safety Requirements.
  • Review Contractors' design for compliance with Employers' Requirements, Authority Requirements, End User Requirements, and Local and International Standards.
  • Prepare and submit daily and weekly reports to the Resident Engineer detailing progress, nonconformities, and any issues requiring attention.
  • Participate in project construction meetings and assist in resolving construction problems.
  • Review as-built drawings and assist in punch list preparation.
  • Perform claims analysis and evaluate Contractors' personnel, equipment, materials, and subcontractors.

Qualifications: Minimum Qualification

  • Bachelor's Degree in relevant Engineering field (i.e., Civil, etc.).
  • Minimum 12 years of related Construction Supervision / Management experience on projects with a broad general engineering background.
  • Must have worked on projects in the capacity of a Senior Engineer and/or Assistant Resident Engineer as a minimum.
