Your Day to Day:

As a Housekeeping Intern, you will be an essential part of our operational success. In this role, you will assist the housekeeping team in maintaining cleanliness and guest satisfaction while learning the day-to-day operations of a hotel.

Some of your main role responsibilities are:

  1. Learn and assist in the daily cleaning of guest rooms, public areas, and special facilities such as gyms, pools, and event spaces.
  2. Support the team by preparing rooms for guest check-in, including making beds, vacuuming, dusting, and restocking amenities.
  3. Assist in the quick and efficient turnover of guest rooms, ensuring cleanliness standards are met before check-ins.
  4. Assist in stocking and organizing housekeeping carts with necessary supplies and materials.
  5. Participate in daily team briefings to understand the workflow and any special tasks for the day.
  6. Learn the importance of timely guest service by responding to housekeeping requests and delivering extra amenities as needed.
  7. Collaborate with other departments such as maintenance and front desk to address guest concerns and requests.
  8. Learn to follow safety and health guidelines, including the proper handling of cleaning chemicals and waste disposal.
  9. Anticipate guests’ needs, respond promptly and acknowledge all guests, however busy and whatever time of day.

Ideally, you'll have some or all of the following competencies and experience we're looking for:

  1. Currently enrolled in or recently completed a diploma or degree program in Hospitality Management or a related field.
  2. Previous experience/On job training in a similar position.
  3. Strong attention to detail and a passion for cleanliness.
  4. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  5. Basic reading, writing, and math abilities are used often when reading room assignments, completing checklists, replacing room linens and amenities.
  6. Ability to carry or lift items weighing up to 50 pounds / 23 kilograms and to push/pull medium to large weights/objects, frequently standing up and moving around the facility, frequently handling objects and equipment to maintain the facility, frequently bending, stooping, and kneeling.
  7. Have the ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends and/or holidays.
