Job Description
SUMMARY
To ensure that all guest and colleague areas are maintained to a high standard of maintenance and cleanliness, as assigned by the Housekeeping Management Team and in accordance with the Company policies, procedures and standards to ensure maximum guest satisfaction.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Report for duty punctually, always wearing the correct uniform and name badge.
- Attend the morning/evening briefing at the beginning of the shift.
- Collect the section key against signature and room report from the housekeeping office and return them at the end of the shift.
- Clean assigned rooms thoroughly, making necessary arrangements in guest rooms and replenishing linen and guest supplies.
- Tidy and arrange guest belongings when cleaning guest rooms and bathrooms to ensure compliance with hotel standards.
- Inspect all facilities, furniture, and fixtures and report any damage to the Supervisor for action and follow-up.
- Inform Order Taker / Floor Supervisor of any missing or broken items found in rooms.
- Attend to guest requests and queries courteously and promptly during duty.
- Inform Valet Service to collect guest clothes for laundry, dry cleaning, or pressing to maintain guest satisfaction.
- Operate in a safe and environmentally friendly way to protect guests and colleagues’ health, safety, and security, as well as conserve the environment.
- Perform special general cleaning in guest rooms as per housekeeping schedule (daily, weekly, monthly) and occupancy level.
- Clean staircases, corridors, windows, and pantries on assigned floors as requested.
- Clean and store all equipment properly and keep pantries well arranged.
- Pay particular attention to busy areas outside of the section such as guest elevators and ashtrays.
- Re-stock the trolley and pantries for the next day.
- Keep all housekeeping areas clean and tidy.
- Participate actively in training sessions provided by the hotel and department.
- Report any maintenance issues immediately and do not release rooms with maintenance faults.
- Assist with preventative maintenance programs.
- Do not allow entry into guest rooms without supervisor approval.
- Report any suspicious behavior immediately.
- Report damages or missing items.
- Do not give your master keys to anyone.
- Perform duties in laundry, runner, or public areas as assigned, in addition to rooms.
Desired Skills & Expertise
- At least two years of experience as a Room Attendant in a hotel setting is preferred.
- Knowledge of housekeeping operational procedures.
- Ability to work under pressure and in a fast-paced environment.
- Effective communication skills and the ability to work well with the team.
- Ability to anticipate guest needs and deliver professional, welcoming service.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
