Job summary

voco Dubai, part of InterContinental Hotels Group, is seeking a Receiving Clerk to join our busy hotel operations. You’ll manage food and beverage deliveries, ensure accuracy with purchase orders, and maintain hygiene in the receiving bay.

The role supports the Purchasing and Cost Controller teams to keep inventory accurate and compliant. Ideal candidates have 3–5 years in a similar hotel role with strong Excel skills, a keen eye for detail, and solid numeracy.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of experience in a similar role in a four or five-star hotel.
• Commercial focus with a keen eye for detail and strong analytical and numerical skills.
• High-level competence in Microsoft Excel and other office packages.
• Proven negotiation skills and strong interpersonal abilities.
• Excellent organizational, time management and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Maintain hygiene levels in the receiving bay per hotel standards.
• Ensure supplier vehicles are at the correct temperatures and record discrepancies.
• Keep records of short expiry items and advise the Cost Controller Supervisor.
• Print Purchase Orders each morning and monitor Open Purchase Orders for short deliveries.
• Prepare Short Delivery / Rejection reports for follow-up by Purchasing and Cost Controller.
• Ensure plastic crates are washed and report any issues to the Stewarding Supervisor.
• Assist stores personnel and update fixed asset records as needed.
• Maintain HACCP compliance and support invoice submission with backups.
