Job summary

Millennium Hotels and Resorts Abu Dhabi is seeking a Chief Engineer to oversee all engineering and maintenance operations across the property's facilities. You will lead a team, implement preventive maintenance, and drive safety, energy efficiency, and reliability of mechanical, electrical, plumbing systems.

This role collaborates with other departments, manages the engineering budget, responds to emergencies, and champions sustainability while ensuring compliance with EH&S policies.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement comprehensive engineering and maintenance strategies to ensure the effective operation of the hotels physical infrastructure.
• Supervise and lead a team of engineers and technicians, providing guidance, training, and performance evaluations.
• Plan and execute preventive maintenance programs to minimize equipment downtime and extend the lifespan of facilities and systems.
• Oversee the repair and maintenance of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and other systems in accordance with industry standards and regulations.
• Manage the budget for the engineering department, controlling costs, and allocating resources efficiently.
• Collaborate with other departments to address their technical needs and provide support for various events and activities.
• Ensure compliance with safety and environmental regulations, implementing measures to promote a safe working environment.
• Evaluate and recommend upgrades or improvements to the hotels infrastructure to enhance energy efficiency and sustainability.
• Respond promptly to emergency situations and implement corrective actions to minimize disruptions to hotel operations.
• Maintain accurate records of equipment, repairs, and maintenance activities for reporting and auditing purposes.
• Stay informed about industry trends and advancements in engineering technology, incorporating best practices into the hotels operations.
• Uphold environmental, health, and safety standards in alignment with organizational policies.
• Adhere to the company’s environmental, health, and safety procedures and policies.
