Job description

Job Responsibilities
  1. Design and manage the dining room layout, including table, seat, and section numbers, ensuring proper setup, room capacity, hours of operation, price range, and dress code.
  2. Monitor daily house count, arrivals, departures, and VIP guests.
  3. Coordinate scheduled in-house group activities, including locations and times.
  4. Answer telephone calls within 3 rings, using correct salutations and telephone etiquette.
  5. Record and confirm restaurant reservations and cancellations according to departmental standards.
  6. Communicate reservation or cancellation updates to management during the shift.
  7. Oversee the preparation of assigned tasks, ensuring compliance with departmental standards.
  8. Maintain cleanliness and sufficient quantities of menus and check folders.
  9. Keep the hostess stand clean and organized.
  10. Review the reservation book, pre-assign tables, and follow up on special requests.
  11. Greet guests at the restaurant entrance.
  12. Seat guests according to the floor plan, ensuring fairness to all waitstaff.
  13. Escort guests to their designated tables and ensure their satisfaction with the seating.
  14. Present menus to guests.
  15. Ensure tables are properly set for optimal service.
  16. Anticipate busy periods and organize procedures to manage waiting lines effectively.
  17. Respond promptly to guest needs and acknowledge guests at all times, regardless of busyness or time of day.
Qualifications
  • Ideally hold a relevant degree or diploma in Hospitality or Tourism Management.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in hotel operations, with strong customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills.
