Job summary

Ennismore's 25hours Hotel One Central in Dubai seeks an enthusiastic host/hostess to welcome guests, manage seating, and coordinate with service teams to ensure a smooth dining experience. You will maintain knowledge of menus, events, and guest preferences while upholding the brand's friendly tone.

The role emphasizes frontline hospitality, effective communication in English, and a collaborative, professional approach to guest services and team support.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of restaurant operations, staffing levels, service equipment, and guest relations.
• Able to read and understand English for guest requests, memos, reservations and event orders.
• Ability to speak English sufficiently to conduct small employee meetings.
• Ability to remember and promote menu items.
• Ability to move through a crowded room to seat guests.
• Ability to effectively deal with customer complaints and concerns in a friendly and proactive manner.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Prefer six (6) months to one year serving experience; hospitality experience preferred.
• Additional language ability preferred.

• Maintain presence at the host stand during service to ensure seamless reception and ambiance.
• Accurately manage reservations in the restaurant's system and review guest data and seating plans.
• Confirm reservation details, guest counts, and preferences, and communicate changes to the team.
• Answer phone calls promptly and professionally and record messages or bookings accurately.
• Coordinate with kitchen, service, and bar teams to maintain pace and timing of service.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of reception and entrance areas; assist with clearing and resetting tables.
• Perform side duties such as updating seating charts, polishing menus, or assisting with menu distribution.
• Follow grooming and uniform standards reflecting a stylish appearance.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, and licensing standards.
• Support teamwork and mutual respect across departments.

Job Description

How does your working day look like …

• Welcome and engage each guest in a polished, confident, and upbeat manner aligned with the 25hours tone of voice.
• Manage guest seating, flow, and table allocations based on reservations and walk-ins, ensuring fairness and efficiency across all service sections.
• Accommodate special guest requests and communicate effectively with the service team to ensure expectations are met or exceeded.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of menus, special events, seating arrangements, and guest preferences.
• Handle guest complaints, feedback, and queries professionally, ensuring resolution or escalation when appropriate.
• Maintain presence at the host stand at all times during service, ensuring seamless guest reception and restaurant ambiance.
• Accurately manage reservations using the restaurant's system, including inputting, updating, and reviewing guest data and seating plans.
• Confirm reservation details, guest counts, and preferences, and communicate any changes to relevant team members.
• Answer phone calls promptly and professionally (within two rings), assist with inquiries, and record messages or bookings accurately.
• Coordinate with the kitchen, service, and bar teams to maintain pace and timing of service based on guest volume and flow.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the reception and entrance areas; assist with clearing and resetting tables when required.
• Perform assigned side duties such as updating seating charts, polishing menus, or assisting with menu distribution.
• Follow grooming and uniform standards as set by 25hours, always reflecting a stylish and refined appearance.
• Ensure compliance with all fire, health, safety, and hygiene standards, as well as local and internal licensing requirements.
• Support a strong sense of teamwork, collaboration, and mutual respect within the restaurant and across departments.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of restaurant operations, to include appropriate staffing levels, service equipment and guest relations.
• Ability to read the English language to fully comprehend guest requests, memos, reservations, promotional materials, event orders and similar written materials.
• Ability to speak the English language sufficient to conduct small employee meetings to impart new information.
• Ability to remember, recite and promote the variety of menu items.
• Ability to move throughout a crowded room to seat guests.
• Ability to effectively deal with customer complaints and concerns in a friendly and positive manner. This involves listening to the nature of the concern, demonstrating empathy with the customer and providing positive and proactive solutions.
• High school graduate or equivalent required.
• Prefer six (6) months to one year previous serving experience. Prior hospitality experience preferred
• Additional language ability preferred.
