Job description

Hostess

To provide prompt and courteous F&B service to the hotel's guests.

Maintain a friendly and diplomatic relationship with all prospective guests who wish to enter the restaurant or bar at all times.

  1. Ensure all reservation information is properly documented including time, date, number of covers, name/room number, and contact number.
  2. Prepare table allocations from the reservation book before respective meal period seating.
  3. Ensure guests are graciously shown to their tables within a reasonable time of their reservation.
  4. Adhere to hotel door policies and restrictions including local and federal age guidelines aligned with liquor licensing.
  5. Guarantee there is host/hostess coverage at the reception/welcome desk at all times.
  6. Guarantee that the phone is answered within 2 rings in a courteous and helpful manner.
  7. Ensure door policies concerning the entry of guests are adhered to at all times.
  8. Ensure that seating is fair for all service staff.
  9. Perform related duties and special projects as assigned.

Qualifications :

PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES

  • Good reading, writing, and oral proficiency in the English language.
  • Must be well presented and professionally groomed at all times.
  • Able to account and handle cash effectively and efficiently.
  • Good communication and customer contact skills; good problem resolution skills.
  • Basic F&B product knowledge.
  • Team player with strong interpersonal skills and attention to detail.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • One to two years in a public contact position preferably in an upscale or lifestyle brand restaurant or lounge.
  • Enter and locate work-related information using computers and/or point of sale systems.
  • Possess a gracious, friendly, and fun demeanor.
  • Ability to multitask, work in a fast-paced environment, and have a high level of attention to detail.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
  • Maintain positive and productive working relationships with other employees and departments.
  • Ability to work independently and to partner with others to promote an environment of teamwork.
