We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Hospitality and Safety Engineer to join our team and contribute to the continuous improvement of our facilities and operations.

Job Description: As a Hospitality and Safety Engineer, you will be responsible for overseeing and implementing safety protocols, procedures, and initiatives to ensure the safety and well-being of guests, employees, and property assets. You will also play a key role in optimizing facility maintenance and engineering operations to enhance the overall guest experience and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Safety Management:
    • Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive safety programs and protocols in compliance with local regulations, industry standards, and best practices.
    • Conduct regular safety inspections, risk assessments, and audits of facilities, equipment, and operational processes to identify hazards, mitigate risks, and ensure compliance with safety standards.
    • Collaborate with department heads and employees to promote a culture of safety awareness, accountability, and continuous improvement through training, education, and communication initiatives.
    • Investigate accidents, incidents, and near-misses, analyze root causes, and implement corrective actions and preventive measures to prevent recurrence and improve safety performance.
    • Coordinate emergency response and crisis management procedures, including evacuation drills, first aid training, and communication protocols, to ensure effective response and recovery in emergencies.
  • Engineering and Facility Management:
    • Oversee the maintenance, repair, and operation of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems to ensure optimal functionality, energy efficiency, and guest comfort.
    • Develop and implement preventive maintenance programs and schedules to minimize downtime, extend equipment lifespan, and reduce operational costs.
    • Supervise and coordinate the work of maintenance technicians, contractors, and vendors to ensure quality workmanship, adherence to safety standards, and timely completion of projects.
    • Monitor and analyze facility performance metrics, such as energy consumption, water usage, and waste management, and implement strategies to improve sustainability and environmental stewardship.
    • Provide technical expertise and support to various departments, including housekeeping, food and beverage, and guest services, to address facility-related issues and enhance operational efficiency.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Hospitality Management, or related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in hospitality management, safety engineering, or facility maintenance, preferably in a hotel or resort environment.
  • Professional certification in safety management (e.g., Certified Safety Professional, Occupational Health and Safety Administration) is a plus.
  • Strong knowledge of safety regulations, codes, and standards applicable to the hospitality industry.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Effective communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Proficiency in computer-aided design (CAD) software and facility management systems is desirable.
