Job Description:

Highway Design Engineer

Abu Dhabi, UAE

Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Highway Design Engineer to join our team! In this role you will get to perform conventional and moderately-complex engineering assignments, applying engineering techniques and analyses within a discipline.

What You'll Be Doing:

1. Independently develops and/or supervises the creation of engineering products that meet customer quality requirements. This includes defining the problem, establishing the work scope, preparing the budget and schedule, planning the work, providing technical direction, and reporting the work status.
2. Typical products may include detailed calculations, drawings, procurement documents, design and installation packages, proposal evaluations, technical reports, and detailed analyses.
3. Provides support for other engineering activities as required.
4. May supervise one or more subordinates and provide input regarding performance.
5. May be assigned to a project or organizational team, or as a lead engineer for a specific discipline on a small to intermediate size project.
6. Provides input and technical guidance to CAD Designer/Drafters, Designers, and lower level Engineers working on the same project.
7. Performs other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.

What Required Skills You'll Bring:

1. Bachelor's degree in Civil or Transportation Engineering from a recognized University.
2. Minimum 4 years experience in Highway Design with thorough knowledge of Highway Design Software.
3. Ability to utilize computer technology to access data, maintain records, generate reports, etc. and any project specific engineering and construction relevant software.
4. Good written and oral communication, and interpersonal skills, as well as a demonstrated ability to interact effectively with project team.
5. Good communication and presentation skills.
6. Excellent knowledge in utilizing Civil 3D is required.

What Desired Skills You'll Bring:

1. Experience of Abu Dhabi Standards and ADQCC is preferred.
