About The School

Nord Anglia International School Abu Dhabi is a UK curriculum day school enrolling students from Early Years to Year 13 in the city's prestigious residential district Al Reem Island, next to the Sorbonne University campus. Our new school will have the capacity for 2,600 students upon completion. Its first phase of development, opened in September 2023, included the Early Years building and sports facilities, while the second phase opening in Summer 2024 will include the main Primary and Secondary classrooms.

About The Role

As a Higher Level Support Assistant, you shall support pupils with SEN needs across the school and contribute to raising the educational achievement of these pupils by working in sustained collaboration with curriculum and inclusion teams. This position is to begin in April 2025.

General Higher Level Learning Support Responsibilities

Supporting the pupils

• Providing one-on-one or small group assistance tailored to students' specific learning needs.
• Facilitating and guiding pupils during learning activities, ensuring they understand and engage with the material.
• Tracking and recording student progress, providing feedback, and reporting to the class teacher.
• Implementing strategies to manage and support positive student behaviour.
• Assisting with extracurricular activities, enhancing pupils' overall educational experience.
• Motivating and encouraging students to engage fully with their learning activities.
  
  

B. Supporting the Inclusion Team

• Assisting in the preparation and delivery of learning activities.
• Organising and preparing materials and resources.
• Supervising students during lessons, breaks, and other activities.
• Assisting with administrative tasks related to the Inclusion Team.
• Taking responsibility to organise and allocate resources.
• Planning and preparing resources for intervention groups within the year group.
  
  

C. Supporting the school

• Liaising, advising, and consulting with other members of the school.
• Supporting with whole school activities.
• Contributing to review meetings, as appropriate.
• Participating in relevant professional development.
• Providing support, coaching, and mentoring for TAs as appropriate.
• Being fully aware and supportive of school policies and procedures.
• Maintaining confidentiality about home-school/pupil-teacher/school work matters.
• Completing any other related tasks as directed.
  
  

Ideally, candidates will already be based in the UAE.
