Job summary

A leading company in the Middle East is seeking an experienced HGV Driver to operate heavy vehicles in Abu Dhabi. The role includes conducting prestart inspections, ensuring vehicle safety, and maintaining accurate trip logs. Ideal candidates will have a valid UAE driving license and several years of experience driving heavy vehicles.

Qualifications

  • Valid UAE Driving License, Category 4 (heavy vehicle) or equivalent.
  • Minimum 3-5 years of relevant experience driving HGVs in the UAE.
  • Familiarity with traffic routes in Abu Dhabi preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Operate various heavy vehicles as per route plans.
  • Conduct prestart checks and ensure vehicle roadworthiness.
  • Maintain accurate trip logs and support logistics during events.

HGV Driver Job Location Abu Dhabi United Arab Emirates Key Responsibilities Operate 10ton trucks road sweepers pavement sweepers buses and water tankers as per route plans Conduct prestart checks brakes lights tires hydraulic systems and daily vehicle inspections Ensure secure transport of goods equipment or personnel to assigned zones Follow driving routes schedules and access protocols defined by site management Report fuel levels service requirements or faults immediately Assist with basic loading unloading tasks vehicle cleaning and documentation Ensure vehicle cleanliness roadworthiness and availability during emergency mobilizations Comply with temporary traffic diversions and signage for public safety Maintain accurate trip logs daily mileage and fuel records Support in logistics coordination during major events disruptions or weather conditions Skills Required Proficient in operating various heavy vehicles Familiar with UAE road safety rules and municipal transport practices Basic mechanical awareness air pressure hydraulics tire pressure battery warning Communication skills to coordinate with dispatchers or site supervisors Ability to operate under pressure and on flexible schedules Qualifications Valid UAE Driving License Category 4 heavy vehicle or equivalent Minimum 3 5 years of relevant experience driving HGVs in UAE Familiarity with traffic routes in Abu Dhabi is preferred Certification in Defensive Driving or Road Safety is a plus
