Job description

Plan, schedule, and coordinate maintenance and repairs for heavy equipment such as trucks, trailers, and other company vehicles.

Conduct routine inspections to identify potential issues and perform preventive maintenance to ensure optimal equipment performance.

Diagnose mechanical/electrical problems, troubleshoot malfunctions, and carry out necessary repairs to minimize downtime.

Ensure adherence to safety regulations and industry standards during all maintenance activities.

Conduct safety inspections and implement hazard control measures to maintain a secure working environment.

Maintain detailed records of equipment maintenance, repairs, and inspections.

Generate reports on equipment performance, downtime, and costs to support operational decisions.

Collaborate with internal teams and external service providers to ensure timely repairs and upgrades.

Train employees on safe equipment usage and investigate accidents or incidents to implement corrective actions.

Assist in evaluating new equipment for the company’s operations.

Coordinate installation, commissioning, and testing of new equipment for seamless integration into the workflow.

Qualification

High school diploma or technical degree/certification in mechanical maintenance or a related field.

Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, including trucks and trailers and other heavy duty industrial vehicles.

Proficient in diagnostic tools and techniques for identifying mechanical problems.

Expertise in preventive maintenance practices and repair processes for heavy duty vehicles.

Ability to interpret technical manuals, schematics, and drawings.

Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills with a focus on resolving mechanical issues efficiently.

Ability to spot potential problems during routine inspections and ensure high-quality repairs.

Works well with internal teams and external vendors, fostering cooperation to ensure timely repairs and upgrades.

Experience

10 years of proven experience with Minimum of 5 years’ experience in UAE as a Heavy-duty Mechanic, especially with trucks and trailers or similar equipment in a related field.
