Key Accountability:
- Responsible for job allocation and job flow in the workshop including job scheduling and labor allocation for day-to-day operations.
- Should be able to read hydraulic diagrams and diagnose the problems accordingly.
- Ensure supplies are ordered for each job. Ensure correct job numbers are used and that time records are correct.
- Knowledge of Caterpillar heavy equipment diagnostic and servicing requirements.
- Vehicle repair accreditation.
- Communicate any and all changes that affect a vehicle to the concerned person/department (e.g. completion time, parts shortage, extra work, warranty refusal, damage found, delayed diagnosis, etc.).
- Accurately and timely post all resources to the job card including labour, oils, paint, AC gas, bought-out materials and sub-let work.
- Manage inward goods, checking quantities, dispatching goods, and receipting invoices.
- Regularly report progress on each job and quickly communicate delays or concerns with the Operations manager. Report on manpower overruns or shortfalls.
- Ensure adequate maintenance of tools, equipment and other materials in the Service Area.
- Work with the Operations Team to respond to client's requests for updates on the status of their jobs and keep the communication channels open to ensure information is accurate.
Requirements:
- Selected Candidate must be available to join our company within one week.
- BSC in Engineering (Mechanical/Electrical).
- Diploma or equivalent in Mechanical / Automotive or related field.
- 6 years' experience managing an automotive workshop, particularly attached to a dealership.
- Extensive Knowledge of mechanical issues, warranties, service and general repairs.
- Strong analytical, communication and interpersonal skills with administrative competence vital for this role.
- Computer literate with a solid understanding of Microsoft applications.
- Ability to advise customers on the required jobs in a timely, professional manner.
