Heavy Equipment Maintenance Engineer & Workshop Engineer

Job Location: Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates

Experience: 6 to 10 years

Nationality: Any Nationality

Job Function: Automotive / Auto Industry, Engineering, Installation / Maintenance / Repair

Skillset: Mechanical issues, warranties, service and general repairs

Key Accountability:

  1. Responsible for job allocation and job flow in the workshop including job scheduling and labor allocation for day-to-day operations.
  2. Should be able to read hydraulic diagrams and diagnose the problems accordingly.
  3. Ensure supplies are ordered for each job. Ensure correct job numbers are used and that time records are correct.
  4. Knowledge of Caterpillar heavy equipment diagnostic and servicing requirements.
  5. Vehicle repair accreditation.
  6. Communicate any and all changes that affect a vehicle to the concerned person/department (e.g. completion time, parts shortage, extra work, warranty refusal, damage found, delayed diagnosis, etc.).
  7. Accurately and timely post all resources to the job card including labour, oils, paint, AC gas, bought-out materials and sub-let work.
  8. Manage inward goods, checking quantities, dispatching goods, and receipting invoices.
  9. Regularly report progress on each job and quickly communicate delays or concerns with the Operations manager. Report on manpower overruns or shortfalls.
  10. Ensure adequate maintenance of tools, equipment and other materials in the Service Area.
  11. Work with the Operations Team to respond to client's requests for updates on the status of their jobs and keep the communication channels open to ensure information is accurate.

Requirements:

  1. Selected Candidate must be available to join our company within one week.
  2. BSC in Engineering (Mechanical/Electrical).
  3. Diploma or equivalent in Mechanical / Automotive or related field.
  4. 6 years' experience managing an automotive workshop, particularly attached to a dealership.
  5. Extensive Knowledge of mechanical issues, warranties, service and general repairs.
  6. Strong analytical, communication and interpersonal skills with administrative competence vital for this role.
  7. Computer literate with a solid understanding of Microsoft applications.
  8. Ability to advise customers on the required jobs in a timely, professional manner.
