Job Description
- Safely operate heavy concrete mixer trucks, ensuring timely delivery of ready-mix to construction sites.
- Perform pre-trip inspections to check fluid levels, brakes, tires, and other critical components of the vehicle.
- Accurately measure and mix concrete ingredients according to project specifications while adhering to quality standards.
- Maintain clear communication with dispatchers, site managers, and clients regarding delivery schedules and any potential delays.
- Safely navigate urban and rural environments, ensuring compliance with local traffic regulations and construction site protocols.
- Conduct routine maintenance and minor repairs on the vehicle to ensure optimal performance and safety.
- Load and unload concrete materials while utilizing appropriate equipment and safety gear to prevent injury.
- Adhere to environmental regulations concerning waste disposal and proper management of materials during transportation.
- Document delivery times, quantities, and any issues encountered on the job for reporting and logistical purposes.
Desired Candidate Profile
- High school diploma or equivalent educational background, with a focus on technical or vocational training preferred.
- Valid Heavy Vehicle Driver's License (Class A or equivalent) with a clean driving record and no major traffic violations.
- At least 2-5 years of experience driving heavy vehicles, specifically concrete mixer trucks or similar equipment.
- Certification in concrete delivery or relevant heavy vehicle operation courses is a strong advantage.
- Proficiency in basic vehicle maintenance and troubleshooting skills to manage day-to-day vehicle performance.
- Strong knowledge of local traffic laws, safety regulations, and construction site protocols.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including early mornings, late evenings, and weekends as required by project schedules.
- Excellent interpersonal skills to interact positively with clients, coworkers, and site management.
- Physically fit and capable of performing manual tasks related to loading and unloading materials.
