Role Context
The Healthcare Data Scientist will work across Al-Futtaim Health 's growing data ecosystem to develop analytical solutions that support physicians, operational teams, finance stakeholders, and healthcare leadership. The role combines healthcare domain knowledge with data science, machine learning, statistical modelling, and business intelligence. Using Electronic Health Records, insurance claims, pharmacy information, clinical records, and operational datasets, the successful candidate will develop models and decision-support tools that help identify risks earlier, improve care delivery, optimize resources, and strengthen healthcare performance. The position also supports responsible adoption of artificial intelligence within clinical workflows, requiring strong attention to data quality, patient privacy, governance, interoperability, and UAE healthcare regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop predictive models that support clinical decision-making and healthcare operations.
- Build machine learning solutions for disease prediction, patient risk identification, and outcome forecasting.
- Create models that assess hospital or clinic readmission risk.
- Develop length-of-stay prediction and patient risk-stratification methodologies.
- Evaluate model accuracy, reliability, bias, and performance using appropriate statistical and evidence-based techniques.
- Refine existing analytical models as new healthcare data becomes available.
- Integrate and analyze datasets from Electronic Health Records, insurance claims, pharmacy systems, clinical platforms, and operational sources.
- Work with large and complex healthcare datasets while maintaining accuracy, traceability, and data integrity.
- Support data quality improvement initiatives and identify incomplete, inconsistent, or unreliable data.
- Contribute to healthcare data governance standards and documentation.
- Work with EHR platforms and healthcare information systems to support analytical use cases.
- Support healthcare interoperability initiatives involving NABIDH and other data exchange environments.
- Develop dashboards and visualizations for clinical leaders, executives, operational teams, and finance stakeholders.
- Analyze patient activity, insurance, financial, operational, and healthcare performance data.
- Produce clear insights that support service planning, clinical quality, operational efficiency, and management decision-making.
- Support revenue cycle optimization through healthcare data analysis.
- Identify patterns in claims, utilization, patient behavior, and operational workflows that may improve financial or clinical performance.
- Develop AI-powered healthcare applications and decision-support solutions.
- Collaborate with physicians and clinical leaders to translate analytical findings into practical healthcare workflows.
- Support innovation initiatives involving predictive analytics, clinical AI, machine learning, and healthcare automation.
- Apply healthcare coding and terminology standards when developing analytical models and data structures.
- Ensure analytical work complies with DHA requirements and applicable UAE healthcare data regulations.

- Document model assumptions, methodologies, data sources, validation results, and analytical outputs.

Ideal Profile
- Bachelor 's Degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Biomedical Engineering, Health Informatics, or another quantitative discipline.
- Minimum 2 to 5 years of professional Data Science experience.
- At least 2 years of experience working with healthcare, clinical, insurance, or health informatics datasets.
- Practical experience developing predictive models and machine learning solutions.
- Demonstrated ability to analyze large and complex datasets.
- Advanced Python or R programming capability.
- Advanced SQL and database querying skills.
- Experience with statistical modelling, machine learning algorithms, and model validation.
- Strong data visualization and reporting capability.
- Experience using Power BI, Tableau, Plotly, Dash, or comparable visualization platforms.
- Knowledge of healthcare coding systems such as ICD-10, ICD-11, CPT, SNOMED CT, and LOINC.
- Familiarity with healthcare interoperability standards including HL7 and FHIR.
- Master 's Degree or PhD in Health Data Science, Biostatistics, Computational Biology, Data Science, or a related field is advantageous.
- Experience within hospitals, clinics, healthcare groups, health insurance, or health technology organizations is highly desirable.
- Exposure to clinical AI, healthcare economics analytics, claims analytics, revenue cycle analytics, or predictive healthcare modelling is beneficial.
- Familiarity with NABIDH, Malaffi, DHA healthcare ecosystems, and UAE health data requirements is preferred.
- Strong analytical reasoning with the ability to explain technical findings to non-technical stakeholders.
