Job summary

Merck Healthcare in Dubai is seeking a Health Insurance Manager to lead access initiatives with insurers, TPAs, and payors across the UAE and Gulf region. Based in Dubai, you will shape reimbursement strategies for high-value medicines and innovative therapies while collaborating with internal teams to align priorities.

You will partner with insurers and funding bodies, develop creative financing solutions, and ensure timely claim approvals, supporting patient access and sustainable funding.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years’ experience with insurance companies, TPAs or a similar role in a multinational pharmaceutical company.
• Bachelor or Master’s degree in medicine, health economics or any related field.

Responsibilities

• Support access to medicine for high value treatments among insurance providers & TPAs.
• Identify access barriers & overcome insurance reimbursement challenges to minimize claims rejections & ensure timely claim approvals.
• Develop creative financing initiatives with insurance providers to ensure optimal access & reimbursement.
• Build relationships with insurance companies, TPAs & all relevant stakeholders.
• Develop strategic partnerships with payors & funding organizations to enhance access to Merck products.
• Liaise with internal cross functional & brand teams on priorities, different access solutions & affordability initiatives.

1-Key Responsibilities

• Support access to medicine for high value treatments among insurance providers & Third-Party Administrators (TPAs)
• Identify access barriers & overcome insurance reimbursement challenges to minimize claims rejections & ensure timely claim approvals
• Develop creative financing initiatives with insurance providers to ensure optimal access & reimbursement
• Build relationships with insurance companies, TPAs & all relevant stakeholders
• Develop strategic partnerships with payors & funding organizations to enhance access to Merck products
• Liaise with internal cross functional & brand teams on priorities, different access solutions & affordability initiatives

2-Experience & Skills Requirements

• 3-5 years’ experience with insurance companies, TPAs or a similar role in a multinational pharmaceutical company
• Bachelor or Master’s degree in medicine, health economics or any related field
• Excellent understanding of the UAE & Gulf insurance & payors landscapes
• Knowledge of Heath economics, treatment reimbursement & claims authorization dynamics
• Creative mindset & Excellent problem-solving capabilities
• Project management capabilities & ability to build strong partnerships with relevant stakeholders
• Work ethics and understanding of key pharma compliance policies
