Health Economics & Market Access Director

Position Summary:

Strategic leadership of the Market Access function for the APAC & Growth Markets (AGM) region, including APAC, Middle-East, Africa & Russia, and Latin America. Responsible for engaging with commercial leadership to identify market access priorities, opportunities for expanded access, and reimbursement defense. The role involves generating health economics/real-world data evidence to demonstrate the value of LIVANOVA solutions in key AGM markets. It includes managing in-country market access teams across China, Japan, and Brazil (currently 4 FTE). The successful candidate will combine strategic leadership with tactical operations and project delivery skills.

Responsibilities:

  • Represent the HEMAR function within the AGM leadership as a strategic partner to the commercial team.
  • Identify and assess Market Access opportunities and risks across AGM markets, prioritizing based on commercial impact.
  • Collaborate with the Global HEMAR team to advocate for regional evidence needs and explore health economic evidence generation.
  • Develop comprehensive delivery plans for regional Market Access strategy, including timelines and milestones.
  • Manage in-country market access teams, ensuring alignment with commercial teams.
  • Drive team development, resource planning, and personal development plans.
  • Oversee health economics and market access training, including reimbursement coding and study communication.
  • Manage relationships with external reimbursement and market access vendors.
  • Contribute to the evolution of the Global HEMAR team through leadership and cross-regional collaboration.

Skills and Experience:

  • Post-graduate qualification or relevant experience in health economics, market access, or reimbursement, preferably in medical devices.
  • 5+ years in a regional Market Access leadership role with a strong commercial alignment.
  • Experience in developing regional strategies and implementation plans.
  • Knowledge of APAC and LATAM Market Access/Reimbursement requirements is desirable.
  • Line management experience in Health Economics/Market Access.
  • Experience working with medical device industry associations and professional bodies.
  • Established network of health economic stakeholders in APAC and/or LATAM is beneficial.
  • Experience in neuromodulation or cardiovascular disease is a plus but not essential.

Education:

  • Post-graduate qualification in health economics, public health, healthcare administration, or epidemiology is desirable.
  • Training in health economic methods is advantageous.

Travel Requirements:

  • Approximately 25% travel within the AGM region to manage in-country teams.
  • Occasional travel to EU or US for leadership initiatives.
